Recipe: Hummus

One of the most popular dips around the world! Everyone has their own way of making it and we’re no different, here’s our version and you know what? Sometimes we put more tahini in, sometimes we put no cumin, it really depends on the day. It’s good to learn the basics but don’t get caught up in the details all the time, experiment, create, cook, enjoy.

1 can drained chickpeas
1/2 cup tahini (hulled!)
1-­2 cloves garlic crushed
1 lemon juiced
pinch of cumin or as desired
salt to season
water to loosen the mixture

1 tablespoon olive oil optional

Let’s Cook

  1. In a blender/food processor add in garlic till finely processed
  2. Add tahini, 3 tbsp of water, blend
  3. Add in the lemon juice, salt and cumin – you may need to adjust the ingredients to your taste.
  4. Add in the chickpeas
  5. you can add in water if it needs loosening and a tablespoon olive oil for flavour
  6. That’s it! Eat & enjoy.
